UNK Remains Seventh in Top 25; Mules & Jets Up Next

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney wrestling team remains seventh in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II Top 25.
 
This is a tournament powering ranking index where teams get points based on where individuals are ranked in their respective weight class. A number one ranking is worth 20 points, second is 16 points, third is 13 points etc. The Lopers have six ranked individuals and 45 points. Central Oklahoma (93), Lander, S.C. (71) and West Liberty, W.V. (55) lead the way. The next rankings will come out on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Veterans Nick James (7th/141 lbs.) and Billy Higgins (12th/184 lbs.) are in their respective weight class Top 12 as are underclassmen Zach Ourada (6th/125 lbs.), Trenton Munoz (4th/174 lbs.), Jackson Kinsella (8th/197 lbs.) and Crew Howard (5th/285 lbs.).

UNK heads to No. 21 Central Missouri Sunday night and then hosts Newman on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Health & Sports Center. That dual was originally scheduled for Jan. 12 but postponed because of weather.
