MIAA Championships Saturday at Pitt

Kearney, Neb. – The 2025 MIAA Cross Country Championships are set for this Saturday (Oct. 25) in Pittsburg, Kan., at Four Oaks Golf Course.

The women's 6k starts at 10 a.m. with the men running an 8k at 11 a.m. An awards ceremony follows at noon; the top 10 finishers are tabbed All-MIAA with those finishing 11-20 tabbed honorable mention. Fans can follow along with live results. 2025 MIAA Championships Cross

Last year, the Loper men were third (112 points) with the women tallying 97 to come in fifth place. Since joining the conference in 2012, the men have had four top two finishes and the women three. UNK won titles in 2015 (men) and 2021 (women). 

The Pittsburg State Gorilla women have taken the last three crowns with Northwest Missouri the defending men's champ. 

In the most recent U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings (Oct. 15), the Loper women are 16th with Pitt 18th, Northwest 23rd, Missouri Southern 24th and Rogers State 30th. Fort Hays State is among those receiving votes. On the men's side, Northwest (7th), Pitt (14th) and Washburn (17th) are in the national polls with UNK, MSSU, FHSU and Mo West all regionally ranked.

The Lopers and the rest of the league head to Joplin, Mo., for the NCAA Central Regional on Nov. 8.
