Both Loper Teams Ranked to Close Out 2024-25

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney tennis teams are ranked 23rd (women) and 40th (men) in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II rankings for the 2025-26 season.

Both squads were ranked throughout the winter and spring with the Loper women (20-6) reaching as high as sixth in early March, tops in program history. The men (11-14), in just its second year back as a program, got as high as 29th in D2.

Individually, senior Narindra Ranaivo (35th) and sophomores Fabiana Gamboa (16th) and Jip Mens (26th) are ranked nationally in singles with the doubles team of Ranaivo and sophomore Tanya Midzi (17th) in the Top 20. ON the men's side, freshman Adrian Constantin joined sophomore Tom van den Dungen (39th) and freshman Ivan Melnik (46th) to for two nationally-ranked doubles pairs.

Finally, the ITA included regional rankings for the first time since November 2024. The women are ranked second behind Augustana with Gamboa (3rd), Ranaivo (9th) and Midzi (19th) tabbed in singles and Ranaivo/Midzi in doubles (2nd). The Loper men come in sixth in the Central with Mens (9th) and Constantin (20th) ranked in singles and then van den Dungen/Constantin (6th) and Melnik/Constantin (9th) in the region top 10 in doubles.

The Loper women shared the MIAA regular season title with two other squads before winning NCAA Central Region #1 to reach the "Sweet 16" for a second consecutive year. The young men played a nationally-ranked schedule, went 7-5 at home and reached the MIAA/GAC Tournament.

The 2025-26 season starts in September with open tournaments and duals against area competition.
