Keanrey, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney cross country teams visit Eugene T. Mahoney State Park this Friday night to start the 2025 season.

The Platte River Rumble "Gold" is hosted by Creighton and the Omaha Sports Commission. The women run at 6 p.m. (5k) with the men at 6:45 p.m. (6k) on the Olsson cross country course.

The 12-team field includes the Bluejays, Nebraska, Kansas State, UNO, South Dakota, two other MIAA squads and four junior colleges. Fans headed to Ashland will need to purchase park/event entry prior to arriving to further assist with traffic flow. Live results are available for those who cannot make the trip.

In the recently released USTFCCA preseason region rankings, the UNK men are seventh in the Central with the women eighth.

UNK returns to Mahoney Oct. 17 for the Platte River Rumble "Collegiate" hosted by the Mavericks.
