UNK Preps for MIAA's by Running in St. Joe

Kearney, Neb. – The nationally ranked Nebraska Kearney cross country teams ran in the non-scoring Griffon Open Saturday morning in St. Joseph, Mo.

The rare non-team scoring event allowed teams to continue to get work done prior to the MIAA Championships (Nov. 7) and NCAA Central Regionals (Nov. 21). Teams were also able to rest some folks this week.

The 22nd-ranked women were led by Dannebrog junior Hannah Swanson (17th/18:51.0), Bellevue freshman Amalia Doty (19th/18:53.1) and Kansas senior Charis Robinson (25th/18:57.1). Southwest Baptist junior Natalie Gerdes led the field for 142 finishers by running a 17:10.6. On the men's side, the 15th-ranked Lopers top three were Lincoln senior Nathan Johnson (4th/25:47.7), Papillion junior AJ Raszler (12th/26:05.9), and Iowa sophomore Brennen Bhave (14th/26:09.3). Thomas Kubala of Rogers State was the winner (25:30.1).

The MIAA's are back in St. Joe on this same course
