UNK Goes 1-1 in Tahlequah

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney tennis teams split with Northeastern State on Saturday, the 28th-ranked men winning 4-3 and the women falling by a 5-2 score.  

UNK is now 12-6 (2-2) on the men's side and 7-9 (1-4).

The Loper men took the doubles point and then won two singles matches in three sets to get past the 'Hawks (5-8, 2-2). Winning in three sets were freshman Ilan Fuentes (France) and senior Alex Jaulin (Australia).

In the women's dual, NSU (10-6, 3-2) won doubles and then won four singles matches in straight sets. Junior Fabiana Gamboa (Venezuela) won in straight sets at one (-3, -3) with freshman Augustina Abdo (Ecuador) doing the same at six (-3, -2) to tally the points for the Lopers. 

UNK is at Arkansas-Ft. Smith on Sunday.
