Kearney, Neb. – The 9th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team got a combined 25 kills from outside hitters Erica Burson and Chelsie Carson to sweep Colorado Christian (-6, -19, -16) Thursday night at the Health & Sports Center.

The RMAC opener for the Lopers (10-1), this was the Cougars (2-7, 0-2 RMAC) second league match this fall.

UNK came out on fire, having 13 kills and hitting .591 in the first set. Christian, on the other hand, had five kills and nine errors to hit negative -.138.

In last night's 3-2 win over 23rd-ranked Nebraska-Omaha, Burson (Gretna) and Carson (Elkhorn) had nine combined kills in the fifth set. Tonight, Carson had a match-high 13 while hitting at a .522 clip; Burson was close behind with 12 kills and a .324 hitting efficiency.
