Kearney, Neb. – Colorado State-Pueblo's Jessa Cook scored two goals to lead the Thunderwolves soccer team to a 3-2 win over Nebraska-Kearney Sunday afternoon in Colorado.

CSUP improves to 2-4-1 (1-2 RMAC) while the Lopers (1-6-1, 0-3-1 RMAC) remain winless in its last seven games.

Pueblo got on the scoreboard at the 21 minute mark when Brittany Montgomery took a pass from Esther Villa and scored her third goal of the year. Cook then padded Pueblo's lead with goals at the 34 and 36 minute marks. She has now scored four times this year.

Coming into today, UNK hadn't scored a goal of its own since the third game of the year. That long drought ended when sophomore defender Shayla Frost (Kearney) scored her first goal as a Loper at the 49 minute mark. Freshman defender Sara Chapman (Lincoln Northeast) was credited with the assist.

With under a minute to go, freshman forward Jessica Schnoke (Papillion) put her name into the scoring column with her first collegiate goal. Sophomore defender Katie Larghe (Thornton, Colo.) got the assists.

On Friday, Adams State (3-4, 1-2 RMAC) got a goal from Ashley Sales at the 82:33 minute mark to beat the Lopers 1-0. Freshman keeper Marissa Niday stopped nine shots before Saldes headed in a pass from Cori Rich.

UNK hosts New Mexico Highlands next Friday and then plays Colorado-Colorado Springs Sunday.
