Kearney, Neb. – The University of Nebraska Kearney soccer team was defeated by Adams State, 
2-1, Sunday afternoon, in Alamosa, Colo.
The Lopers end the season at 6-9-3 and 3-8-3 in conference play while the Grizzlies finish at 5-12-1 and 4-9-1 in RMAC action.
After a scoreless first half, the Grizzlies' Whitney Smith scored the first goal in the 58th off of a corner kick by Kaylee Smith. Jessica Hellweg then added an insurance goal 15 minutes later. 
The Lopers final goal of the 2010 season came in the 90th minute by freshman 
Raliegh Mercer (Centennial, Colo.) off of a cross by fellow freshmen 
Becka Talcott (Denver, Colo.). 
Adams State held a two shot advantage over UNK,18-16, with each team taking four corners.
 The Lopers were led in shots by Mercer (seven) and Wisconsin junior 
Morgan Abert (three).  In goal, 
sophomore Vanessa Leeper (Colorado Springs, Colo.) made six saves after halftime. 
Talcott was the leading scorer for the Lopers this fall with seven goals and 16 points while Mercer tallied the most shots (59) and shots on goal with 25.
Finally, Senior 
Talisha Krason (Kearney H.S.) played a team-high 1,554 minutes with defender 
Melanie Patrick (Hastings) second at 1,482 minutes.
