Kearney, Neb. - Nebraska-Kearney junior Jessie Thomas has been named to the 2010 Louisville SluggerNFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-Central Region softball team.

A panel of head coaches from within the region vote in the makeup of the team. This year's teams are comprised of 207 student-athletes from 91 institutions spread out over the eight regions, with a 1st and 2nd team for each region.

Thomas (Yutan) earned 1st-team honors at designated player after batting a team-best .351 this season. A right hander pitcher but a left handed batter, she also led the team in on-base percentage (.401).

Already this year, she earned 2nd-team Daktronics All-Region honors, a team voted on by sports information directors.

Tied for the team lead in hits (46), Thomas also was second in homers (eight), RBI's (22) and slugging percentage (.573).
