Kearney, Neb. – The University of Mary women's soccer team scored two second half goals to beat Nebraska-Kearney,
2-0, Saturday morning in Bismarck, ND.
This was a second game of the season for UNK and was season opener for the Marauders. In August 2009, Mary beat UNK 1-0.
Mary got its first goal from Jessica Curl at the 55 minute mark from nine yards out. Then eight minutes later, Alex Bachman-Williams scored from about 12 yards out.
Loper true freshman
Raliegh Mercer (Centennial, CO/Arapahoe H.S.) led the Lopers with three shots. In Thursday's win over Wayne State, Mercer had a team-best five shots.
Goalkeeper
Marissa Niday (Fremont) made three saves of the five shot on goal.
The Marauders had a two shot advantage over the Lopers, 10-8, on the afternoon. Four different Mary players had at least two shots.
UNK returns to action on September 7th for the home opener against Augustana (SD).
