Kearney, Neb. - Both Nebraska-Kearney tennis teams swept Nebraska Wesleyan 9-0 Sunday afternoon at the Lincoln Tennis Center.

On Saturday, the Loper women (2-1) got a crack at the Division I Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans. UNK picked up a win at No. 3 doubles (8-6), and lost 9-8 at No. 1 doubles, to fall by an 8-1 score.

Against NWU, the Loper men (2-2) won each singles match in straight sets and were only tested at No. 2 doubles where juniors Kyle Conzemius (Lincoln Pius) and John Steinke (Grand Island) got by with an 8-6 victory.

On the women's side, UNK gave up up a total of seven points in doubles and then swept all six singles as freshman Kristin Weems (Arlington, Texas) won 7-5, 6-1 in the fourth spot and senior Nickola Messbarger (Kearney Catholic) got past Nicole Jacobson (6-4, 6-4) in the fifth position.

The Lopers have a busy week ahead, playing at Washburn on Thursday, facing NW Missouri State Friday in Kansas City and then visiting Division II newcomer William Jewell (Mo.) Saturday.
