Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska Kearney will send a men's and women's doubles team to the 2026 ITA Division II Individual National Championships Nov. 4-8 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. 2026 ITA Champs Logo

The automatic and at-large field (singles and doubles field) was announced today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Players can win their respective regionals to qualify or have a strong body of work from their career to gain an at-large berth.

Heading South next month are senior Andy Brisdon (U.K.) and junior Ivan Melnik (Germany) and senior Julia Wartecka (Poland) and freshman Victoria Trentino Garcia (Brazil).

Brisdon and Melnik earned All-American status last year for posting a 24-8 record, going 8-4 vs. Top 50 competition and ending the year ranked in the Top 20. At last week's Central Regional in Edmond, Okla., the pair won three times to reach the semifinals.

The Central also will be represented by doubles teams from Quachita (Ark.) Baptist, Northeastern State, Southern Arkansas, and Washburn. The 'Bods also qualified three singles players with OBU at one.

Wartecka and Garcia are heading to Alabama after winning three times in Edmond. They pulled two upsets in reaching the semis and won the Washburn Invitational earlier this fall. Arkansas Tech, Central Oklahoma, and two teams from Washburn will be in Alabama as well with the region sending three singles players.
