Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's tennis team opened the spring season up with a
6-3 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan Saturday afternoon in Grand Island.
Including the fall, UNK is now 4-0 while the Prairie Wolves fall to 0-3.
The Lopers led 2-1 after doubles as the No. 1 and 3 teams won by identical 8-2 scores. In singles, Kearney won four of the matches (1, 2, 5 and 6).

Vanessa Gunawan (Indonesia) didn't allow a single point in winning at No. 1 singles with sophomore
Tealyn Trimble (Kearney H.S.) getting past Natalie Cech, 6-1 and 7-5, in the sixth position.
UNK is off until March 1st when William Jewell (Mo.) comes to town.
