Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney track & field team won three events and had 21 NCAA provisional efforts at its annual Charlie Foster Pre-Holiday Classic Saturday in Cushing Coliseum.

The non-team scoring meet featured several area teams, including York, Hastings and Northwest Missouri State.

Putting their name on the national list in multiple events were Cairo sophomore Grant Myers (pole vault and heptathlon) and Hastings true freshman Justin Engberg (60 hurdles and heptathlon). Overall, the Loper women had seven provisional efforts and the men 14.

UNK struck national pay dirt in the women's pole vault as four met the provisional standard. Hershey senior Brooke Frederick won (11-7.75) with three others clearing 11-1.75 to place second, fourth and fifth, respectively. The trio consisted of Lincoln senior Mandy Rathje, Columbus junior Kylee Study and Bertrand sophomore Allison Mason.

In the men's pole vault, Myers and Fairfield junior Bailey Stapleman both cleared 15-7.75 but Myers won based on judge's decision. Bertrand true freshman Tyrell Younger finished fifth (14-9.50) to join them on the national list.

The hep began Friday evening and concluded in the early afternoon on Saturday. Myers tallied 4,735 points to finish third with Engberg four spots back (4,347) and New Mexico true freshman Lindsey Larabee ninth (4,294). All three points total crack the UNK top 10 and are on the national list.

Finally, Elm Creek sophomore Jake Bartling was a spot back (52-2.50).

The other qualifiers were Texas senior Preston Foley at 60 meters (6.98), Grand Island junior Colton Stuhr in the triple jump (45-0.25) and McCook junior Marcus Gonzales in the weight throw (57-11). Finally on the men's side, running unattached, Kearney senior Garrett Arnold won the 60 hurdles (8.37).

The women's top event outside of the pole vault was the weight throw were Nelson junior Holly Bower was fifth (51-4.50) and Kansas junior Abagayle Spilinek sixth (51-2.25). Joining them on the national list was 2016 indoor All-American Emily Everitt in the high jump (5-6.50). Her effort was good for a runner up finish and ranks seventh nationally, highest among UNK's 21 efforts today.

Finally, Plattsmouth true freshman April Graham won at 600 yards (1:30.22) and ran the third leg for the 4x320 relay team that was second (3:07.97).
