Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney track and field team won three events at the Concordia Twilight and Nebraska Spring Tune Up Friday in Seward and Lincoln.

This weekend is the "Last Chance" for student-athletes to qualify for their respective national championships. The Lopers host the Loper Twilight on Sunday with the D2 national list (top 22 in each event) released on Tuesday (May 12).

David City freshman Garett Novacek improved his chances the most, clearing a season-best 6-10.75 to win at CU. The effort places him just outside the UNK all-time top 10 and inside the current D2 top 15. Next, Kearney freshman Luke Brachle was runner up in the 110-hurdles (14.33) with Eagle freshman Carter McMillian second in the long jump (23-0). On the women's side, Kansas freshman Lily Brewer was first in the 5,000 (17:51.16) with Hastings sophomore Megyn Scott winning the pole vault (judge's decision 11-7). Danneborg sophomore Hannah Swanson came in second in the 5,000 (18:17.15) with Blair sophomore Greta Gailbrath also clearing 11-7.

At UNL, Kearney senior Lily Novacek led the way in the hammer (200-3) with Kansas junior Wyatt Hammond third in the javelin (200-9). Finally, Ord redshirt sophomore Sam Boettcher was third in the shot put (51-1.50).
