Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney tennis teams swept through Colorado this weekend as both Loper squads beat Colorado State-Pueblo, Colorado Mesa and Metro State.
All three duals were held in Pueblo over Friday and Saturday.

On the women's side, UNK won by scores of 8-1 (Pueblo), 7-2 (Metro) and 6-3 (Mesa). The Lopers were a combined 8-1 in doubles and 13-5 in singles.

Freshman Ana Royo (Spain) led the way going 3-0 at No. 2 singles and 3-0 at No. 1 doubles with Missouri sophomore Camryn Parnell. Royo won three of her six singles sets by 6-0 scores with her and Parnell sneaking past Metro, 9-8 (6).

Parnell also was undefeated at No. 6 singles as she got past a CMU Maverick by a 7-5, 6-0 count. Finally, Papillion junior Emma Neil was 3-0 at No. 4 singles and was unbeaten at No. 3 doubles teamed with Spanish junior Amanda Alvarez.

The Kearney men defeated Metro and Mesa by identical 7-2 scores and then whipped host Pueblo, 9-1. UNK dropped just two singles matches all weekend while posting a 6-3 doubles mark.

Senior Justin Nguyen (Louisville, Colo.) was one of four Lopers to go 3-0 in singles with senior Mohab El Zanaty (Egypt) and junior Georges Wakim (Egypt) perfect at No. 2 doubles.
