Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team is down one spot to ninth in the second edition of the NCAA Central Region rankings.

These rankings determine the 48-team NCAA Tournament field set for May 6-8 at four regional sites. The Central will be played this year in Muskogee, Okla., and hosted by MIAA member Northeastern State.

Twelve teams and six individuals, not on one of those qualifying teams, will compete in the NCAA Tournament. The Central Region is made up of schools from the MIAA, NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conf.) and GAC (Great American Conf.).

Arkansas Tech is again the top-ranked team in the region with UNK joining Central Oklahoma (4th), Central Missouri (5th), Missouri Western State (8th) and Lindenwood (11th) as MIAA squads in the top 12. Mo West and the Lopers traded places this week.

Kearney made the NCAA Central Regional each of the past two years, being the 11th seed in 2017 and the 12th seed last May.

UNK was scheduled to go to Sioux Falls, S.D, this weekend for the Augie Spring Invite. However, weather moved that tournament to next weekend (April 19-20) so the Lopers will get ready for the MIAA Championships April 22-24 in Mayetta, Kan.
