No. 16 Augie Wins Late Friday Night

Kearney, Neb. – The 16th-ranked Augustana Vikings downed Nebraska-Kearney, 4-2, late Friday night in Sioux Falls.

Augie improves to 5-0 while the Lopers drop to 5-2.

UNK became the only team to date to score points on the Vikings as Colombian sophomore Melisa Becerra won a donnybrook at number one singles (7-6, 7-6) and Mexican sophomore Jazmin Zamorano rolled (6-1, 6-1) four spots lower in the order. However, AU won three other singles matches and allowed eight combined points in doubles. To the lateness of the match, number six singles wasn't finished.

The Lopers have hits home opener on Monday, March 7, against Minnesota State.
