Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney track and field team finished up the regular season with the annual Loper and Nebraska Tune Ups Friday night in Cushing Coliseum and Lincoln.

The Lopers were joined at home by Nebraska Wesleyan and York with a small contingent of runners competing in the Capital City.

Moving up to second all-time in the records books is Creighton junior Alex Homan in the pole vault and Kansas freshman Charis Robinson in the mile. Homan, competing at home, cleared a career-best 16-7.75. That moves him up three spots on the Top 10 and ties him with two-time All-American Bailey Stapleman. Homan also ranks 18th nationally at the moment and fifth in the MIAA. At UNL, Robinson turned in a 4:57.29 mile to place fourth overall and be the top non-D1 finisher. She moves up seven spots in Loper lore, trailing only Brooke Harris (4:56.80; Feb. 2012).

Also on the women's side in Cushing, Stamford sophomore Brianna Russell won the high jump (5-8), Gothenburg senior Hannah Harrison (2:14.89) and Overton sophomore Maeli Meier (2:15.81) went 1-2 in the 800 with Kearney senior Nicole Messbarger first in the 400 (56.73). Harrison is now sixth in the record books with Messbarger's track converted time ranking her 22nd nationally. Finally, four vaulters each reached 11-1.75; Holdrege junior Samantha Schemper, Kearney senior Courtney Thee, Lincoln junior Lilyan Lam and David City junior Gabrielle Oborny.

For the men at home, Cortland junior Zach Van Brocklin (1:52.91) and Fremont sophomore Tyson Baker (1:53.76) went 1-2 in the 800 to both move into the D2 top 25 after the track conversion. Next, Hastings freshman Nolan Studley cleared 6-10.75 to win the high jump. That vaults him into fifth place in UNK history and up to 18th on the national list. Finally, Norfolk junior Jackson Clausen ran a career-best 6.94 (prelims) in the 60-meter dash.
