Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney football team will scrimmage the University of Sioux Falls Cougars on Saturday, April 12, in South Dakota.  

The scrimmage will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Bob Young Field with the format determined closer to game-day. 
 
In the spring of 2021, Division II schools were allowed spring scrimmages as a "COVID exception". The Lopers faced Wayne State that year with legislation passing in January 2023 allowing these exhibitions to take place every year as part of spring ball (15 practices over 30 days). USF is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conf. (NSIC) and posted an 8-3 record in 2024. UNK and the Cougars have never met on the gridiron.
 
Last spring, the Lopers faced Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) from the NSIC at Lewis Central H.S. (Council Bluffs, Ia.) in a scrimmage.

The Blue & Gold is currently going through winter workouts with spring ball slated to begin on Wednesday, March 26, and right after UNK's spring break.
