Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney track and field team is well represented on the 2025-26 national team and individual academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

To qualify for the "All-Academic" team award, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average. All student-athletes on a roster are included in the GPA tally with transfers/graduate students grades at their current institution only being factored into the equation. The Loper women came in with a 3.64, tied for 17th nationally, with the UNK men at a 3.39. That was good for a 26th place tie. Illinois-Springfield (3.67) men and Lincoln Memorial, Tenn., women (3.75) were the GPA leaders, respectively

Individually, a student-athlete must carry at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have ranked in an individual event (Top 50) or relay event (Top 35) nationally during either the indoor or outdoor seasons. UNK had a program-best 28 such qualifiers this year, besting the previous record by five (2023-24). 

The Loper cross country season starts in September with the indoor track season in early December.
