UNK Falls in Oklahoma; Homestand Begins Friday Night

Kearney, Neb.  – The Rogers State Hillcats scored in each half to down Nebraska Kearney, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in Claremore, Okla.

RSU moves to 4-1-2 (2-0-0) while UNK falls to 2-4-2 (0-2-0).

The Lopers were looking for a third straight win over the 'Cats but Wyoming transfer and senior Khari Carreno scored her fourth goal of the fall in the 18th minute and then freshman Gabi Bedigrew added some insurance 12 minutes into the second half. It marks her first collegiate goal.

UNK managed 15 shots including eight on goal, but Middle Tennessee State transfer and senior Calais Butts stopped each one. Junior Ka'iulani Nishigaya (Waipahu, Hawai'i) and freshman Madison McLachlan (Thornton, Colo.) combined for four of the shots on goal with nine different players having at least one. In a game with four cards (one red and three yellow), RSU had five of the six corners and out shot UNK by two. Finally, junior Susie Bovaird (Lincoln) had two saves over the final 30 minutes.

The Lopers host Missouri Southern (1-4-1, 0-2-0) next Friday night at Cope Stadium.
