Bongers broke a Loper record that had stood for nearly a quarter century when she ran 800 meters in 2:09.02 this past weekend at the Kansas Relays.

Placing third in the seeded 800, Bongers snapped the old record by nearly two seconds and, in doing so, automatically qualified for this year's NCAA outdoor meet. Finally, the time is the third best in D2 so far this spring.
