Soccer Ends First Season with Two Road Losses

Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney women's soccer team ended its first-ever season with road losses at Colorado-Colorado Springs, 5-0, and New Mexico Highlands, 8-0, this weekend.

Against UCCS, sophomore Morgan Abert (Waupaca, Wisc.) and freshman Jessica Schnoke  (Papillion) had UNK's two shots; Abert's was a shot on goal.  Two days later in Las Vegas, Abert and freshman Sara Chapman (Lincoln Northeast) recorded the team's shots.

Keeper Marissa Niday (Fremont) was busy as she faced 46 shots on goal over the two games; she made 33 saves to finish the year with 158.

For the year, Abert, Chapman, Maggie McClure (Omaha Marian) and Hollie Oberneder (Big Bear Lake, Calif.) played in all 20 games with Oberneder playing a team-high 1,677 minutes. Also going over 1,600 minutes was Abert and McClure.

Abert had 30 percent of the Lopers total shots (30 of 100) and led the team with 5 points.
