Wissing Fires 81 on Final Day of NCAA Championships

Kearney, Neb. - Nebraska-Kearney sophomore Sara Wissing shot a 72-hole total of 332 to finish 58th at the  NCAA Division II women's golf championships in Mesa, Ariz.

The four-day tournament was played a the par 71 Longbow Golf Club.

Wissing (Hastings) shot an 81 on Saturday, her best round of the tournament. Her previous rounds included an 82, 85 and 84. For the four days, Wissing had four birdies and 31 pars.

Maria Luz Besio of Newberry College (S.C.) held the individual lead the first three days but shot an 82 over the final 18 holes and ended up second (290) to Sandra Changkila of Nova Southeastern (FL). Changkila earned medalist honors with a one over par 72 on Saturday, putting her at 284 for the tournament.

Nova Southeastern (1,180) won its second straight national title with Rollins College (FL) runner up but 40 strokes off the pace.
