Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney tennis teams finished a quick road trip by beating the Harding University Bison, 
7-2 (men) and 
6-3 (women), Saturday in Overland Park, Kans.
The Loper women (7-1) bounced back nicely from a Friday loss at Rockhurst in Kansas City. While the Bison (4-4), from Searcy, Ark., won 9-8 at No. 1 doubles, the Lopers led going into singles.
Senior 
Paula Jimenez (Spain) had a tough match at No. 3 singles but came out on top by a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 score. UNK then swept No. 4-6 singles, winning each in straight sets. That included a 6-3, 6-2 decision by Missouri freshman 
Camryn Parnell.
On the men's side, the 19
th-ranked Lopers (10-0) finished the weekend with a 12-0 mark in singles. That record was challenged a bit today but junior 
Lucas Garces (Spain) won a third-set tiebreaker at No. 6 singles, 10-5.
Junior 
Mohab El Zanaty (Egypt) was the most dominant, winning 6-2, 6-1, from the third spot in the lineup.
In doubles, regionally-ranked Harding (4-2) won at No. 1 and No. 3 but sophomore 
Joey Richards (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and junior 
Justin Nguyen (Louisville, Colo.) rolled in the second spot, 8-2. One of the players they defeated was former teammate Neto Cacace.
Kearney has some time off before a Spring Break down South. That long road swing starts March 21st.
