Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team finished up its fall season with a seventh place showing at the Arkansas Tech Invite Tuesday in Danville, Ark.

The two-day, 15-team event was held at the par 72 Chamberlyne C.C.

The Lopers rebounded from a 337 on Monday to fire a 320 today. The average individual score for the tournament was an even 85.0 with conditions making things tricky throughout.

UNK placed ahead of three MIAA rivals, two schools from both the NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conf.) and GAC (Great American Conf.) as well as Drury, Mo. The host Golden Suns paced the field thanks to a 626 with UCO (631) and Rogers State (632) close behind.

For the second straight tourney Oregon junior Kaitlyn Howe was the low Loper. She carded a 14-over 158 (78-80) to tie for 10th place. ATU's Jacqueline Klemm was the medalist with a 2-over par 146; the next golfer was seven strokes back.

Next for UNK was Puerto Rico sophomore Faviola Gonzalez (T-26/163; 83-80) and Omaha junior Nia Station (T-50/170; 85-85). Finally Doniphan senior Brandi Lemek tied for 53rd (171; 96-75) with Columbus freshman Aspen Luebbe tied for 69th (181; 91-90). Lemek's 75 was among the lowest second round scores in the tourney. She was 1-under on the back nine thanks to a birdie and eight pars.

The Lopers will hit the links again in March 2020.
