KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The 2021 MIAA Women's Golf Championship will play out Thursday and Friday (April 22-23) from Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Okla.

Eleven teams will tee it off beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday and will play 27 holes each day. Fans are encouraged to attend the championship and there is no cost for admission.

Northeastern State is the four-time defending league champion and seeks a record-fifth team championship. Current members Central Oklahoma (three) and Fort Hays State (one) are the other members to win a previous title.

In the most recent NCAA Division II Central regional rankings (Apr. 14), NSU holds the No. 2 ranking. In six events this spring, the RiverHawks have finished in the top-five in every meet, including one first-place and two second-place finishes. Kaylee Petersen fires a stroke average of 78.08 this season, which is a team best. She has been in the top 10 individually in four-of-six events, including a season-low 7-over par 151 (75-76) at the Natural State Classic (March 1-2).

MIAA programs dominate the rest of the regional list, including No. 3 Central Oklahoma, No. 4 Central Missouri, No. 5 Rogers State and No. 9 Missouri Western. The MIAA team champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Central Regional, May 3-5 at the St. Joseph (Mo.) Country Club. The NCAA Division II Championship selection will take place on Monday, April 26 on NCAA.com.

The All-MIAA Teams, Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year will be announced on Wednesday, April 21. The 2021 MIAA Women's Golf All-Championship Team will be announced immediately following the event.
