Six Named All-Region

Kearney, Neb. – Six members of the Nebraska-Kearney men's track and field team have earned 2022 All-Central Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top three relay teams. The regions used for this award -- Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season. The Central is made up of the MIAA, Great American Conf. (GAC) and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conf. (NSIC).

Fremont redshirt freshman Wes Ferguson made the cut in the mile (4:07.15) and at 800-meters (1:49.47) and joined Hastings junior Seth Simonson, McCool Junction junior Luke Stuckey and Wallace sophomore Micah Swedberg on the distance medley relay team (9:41.05). Finally, Simonson (1:50.38) and Kearney senior Cole Willis also made the 800 list (1:49.63) with Kearney sophomore Brayden Sorensen recognized in the high jump (6-11).

These six compete at the NCAA D2 Indoor Championships this weekend at Pittsburg State.
