Kearney, Neb. – Sophomore Sofia Wildeman won a playoff to earn medalist honors at the annual Concordia Bulldog Invitational Tuesday in Lincoln.

The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the par 72 Highlands G.C. (6,022 yards). Eleven varsity teams took part with Doane playing a varsity and a "B" team and UNK having only a "B" squad.

The young Lopers had rounds of 322 and 315 (637) to come in second and right behind 39th-ranked Doane (635; 319-316). UNK came in ahead of, among others, 12th-ranked Iowa Western C.C. and 49th-ranked Kansas Wesleyan.

Wildeman (83-73) and Doane's Kaitlyn Dumler (80-76) both shot a 12-over 156 to tie for first before Wildeman won the playoff. Her second round included 13 pars, including six in a row on the back nine, and birdies on the ninth and 18th holes.

Arizona junior Emmie Rhude (159; 80-79) and Kansas junior Beth Grant (160; 79-81) tied for fifth and 10th, respectively, with Colombian redshirt junior Sofia Laserna Murra 13th (162; 80-82). Rhude and Grant both had three birdies with Laserna at two. Finally, Missouri freshman Mia Farrar played as an individual and came in 33rd place (173; 85-88) with Kansas senior Brooke King now at 89 career rounds, tied for third most in school history. She tied for 49th place (179; 90-89).

The Loper varsity, ranked 53rd in Division II, takes part in the "Stampede at the Creek" this coming Monday and Tuesday in Elkhorn. UNK is the only non-Division I school in the eight-team field.
