Annual Home Tourney Wraps Up the Spring Season

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney volleyball team will finish up its 2025 spring season with the annual Legends Classic this Saturday (April 26) in the Health & Sports Center.

The 14-team tournament begins at 10 a.m. and runs to approximately 4 p.m. Four courts will be in use with each match lasting two sets to 25 points (around 40 minutes); teams can mutually agree to play extra points if time is available. The event is free and open to the public.

The field includes the Lopers, Hastings, Doane, McCook C.C., North Platte C.C., Western Nebraska C.C., Cloud County C.C. (Kan.), Northeastern J.C. (Colo.) and six "UNK Volleyball Alumni" squads; Royal, Grey, Gold, Navy, White & Black.

UNK faces "Grey" at 10:45 a.m., "Royal" at 12:15 p.m., WNCC at 1:15 p.m. and NJC at 2:45 p.m. Each match will be on Court 1. For the complete schedule, go HERE.

Earlier this spring, the Lopers scrimmaged Wyoming and Regis (in Laramie), Nebraska Omaha (in Omaha) and Barton C.C. (in Kearney). The 2025 regular season kicks off Sept. 5 at St. Michae's Windjammer Classic in Vermont.
