UNK Qualifies for Regionals Again, Headed to Edmond

4/28/2025 4:10:00 PM

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team has qualified for the 2025 NCAA Central Regional May 5-7 in Edmond, Okla.

The regional field consists of 18 teams from the MIAA, Great American Conference (GAC) and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) as well as six individuals not from one of those squads. Previously, just nine Central teams qualified for regionals. The regional committee uses a varsity of criteria from the regular season, including head-to-head competition and tournament finish, to determine the selections.

The newly-expanded Division II NCAA women's golf field features 72 teams and 24 individuals competing at four regional sites (Edmond; Allendale, Mich.; Gainesville, Ga.; Amarillo, Texas). The top four Central teams, along with the top two individuals not on those teams, move on to the NCAA Championships May 13-17 in Boulder City, Nev.

Central Oklahoma will host the regional at the Kickingbird G.C. UNK took part in the "Grace Shin Pre-Regional" in Oct. 2024 and tied for fifth out of 24 teams (584).

UNK has qualified for this tournament six times in program history and for the third time in four years. The 2023 Lopers were third out of nine squads (898) to move on to the NCAA Championships where they finished 13th.
