Pair of 305's for UNK in Wichita

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney women's golf team shot a pair of 305's to place runner up at the Newman Fall Invitational Tuesday in Wichita.

The 11-team event was hosted by the Jets at the par 72 Sand Creek Station.

Missouri Western (596; 298-298) won led by medalist Sanya Schweitzer (6-under 138) and fifth-place finisher Ines Vandaele (4-over 148).

Just three strokes separated Kansas juniors Claire Berquist (T-6th; 150/76-74) and Liz Lyons (T-8th: 152/74-78) and Arizona senior Emmie Rhude (T-10th; 153/79-74). Berquist had five birdies with Lyons and Rhude both recording 24 pars. Next, Minnesota sophomore Calie Dockter tallied four birdies (T-15th; 155/82-73) with Texas junior Sofia Wildeman at a team-best six (T-43rd; 165/ 85-80). Finally, three Lopers played as individuals led by Kansas senior Beth Grant (T-29th; 160/80-80).

The Lopers are off next week to prepare for the MIAA Preview Oct. 13-14 in Warrensburg, Mo.
