Six Honored for Work in the Classroom & on the Pitch

Kearney, Neb. – Six members of the Nebraska Kearney women's soccer team recently earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

This award went through a change prior the 2022-23 academic year and had additional changes in the summer of 2023. To qualify now, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have played in 90% of their teams games during the recently completed season. In addition, schools can nominate no more than six in women's soccer.

Previously, Academic All-District nominees could've posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA, there was no game percentage requirement with honorees selected by a random vote. Now, all qualifiers receive Academic All-District distinction.

UNK's qualifiers this year are super senior Lily Engeman (Olathe, Kan.), senior Jacylan Doering (Lincoln Pius), junior Dolcie Hanlon (Grand Junction, Colo.) and sophomores Reagan Downes (Olathe, Kan.), Mia Lang (Papillion LaVista South) and Corynne Olsen (Lincoln SE). A random vote of CSC's from Division II will select an Academic All-American team.

Engeman and Hanlon join midfielder/forward Morgan Abert (2010 and 2011) as two-time Academic All-District honorees.
