Barbara Herbek Bergmeier was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track. When she graduated in 1986, she held school records in the indoor two-mile (11:21.4), outdoor 1500 meter (4:43.5); 3,000-meter (10:14.03), and 5,000-meter (17:44.3). In the 1985 CSIC meet, Bergmeier won the 800 meter, 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter races. At the NAIA 1986 National Track Championships, she was a member of the winning distance medley and runner-up two-mile relay teams, leading the Lady Lopers to a fourth place finish.
