Don Briggs served as sports information director for 33 years, retiring in 1991 UNK graduate and received master’s degree in 1957. Briggs was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1971 for meritorious service. He received the NAIA Award of Merit twice. In 1987 he was elected to the College Sports Information Directors Hall of Fame. He served as president of the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association from 1968-70. In 1980 Briggs received the Ike Pearson Award, the NAIA-SIDA’S highest honor. For more than 20 years Briggs served as press room coordinator for the NAIA track meet and the NAIA National Basketball Tournament.
