Beth Stuart Jurgens was a 12-time NAIA All-American who earned seven national titles in her track events, the shot put and discus, during career from 1983to 1987. She also was a two-time Academic All-American. She set the indoor shot put record at the national event in 1987 with a toss of 50-8, and she set the national championship discus record in 1986 with a throw of 161-2. Jurgens was Nebraska’s College Athlete of the Year in 1987.
