Tom Journey was a three-sport star for the Antelopes from 1939 to 1943. Journey lettered four years in football, three years in basketball and two years in track. A guard in football, he was a starter all four years and was all conference in 1941. That team, coached by ‘Pop’ Klein, was undefeated and allowed opponents only 13 points. A three-year starter in basketball, he was the team’s leading scorer as a freshman. As a junior, Journey was undefeated in his track specialty, the shot put.
