Gene Armstrong earned 12 letters at Kearney State from 1954 to 1958. An end in football, he was an all-conference selection. He played basketball and was a weight man on coach Charlie Foster’s track teams that won four conference championships. He coached at Minden and Omaha Westside High Schools.
