Carl Meyer was a multitalented athlete during his years at Kearney State from 1937 to 1942. He was the leading sprinter of his time, running a 9.7 in the 100-yard dash. A four-year letterman in football. ‘Tiny’ was a key running back on the undefeated 1940 football team. The Blue and Gold yearbook said of Meyer, “ When speed was needed, ‘Tiny’ was called on and always produced even though he was the smallest man on the squad.
