John Parilek starred on the Antelope football team for four years as a quarterback and on the basketball team as a guard from 1935 to 1939. He was all-conference in both sports. At the quarterback position Parilek led Kearney State through four years of football, winning the conference championships in 1937. Parilek was a “fast, shifty and elusive runner.”
