Doug Holtmeier earned basketball letters at UNK in 1980, 1981 and 1982 and in those three years helped Coach Jerry Hueser’s  Lopers to records of 27-4, 25-7 and 26-10. All three teams qualified for the NAIA National Tournament. As a sophomore he scored more than 400 points and grabbed 145 rebounds; and as a senior he scored 607 points and had 234 rebounds. In three years his 1528 points made him forth leading scorer in Antelope history. Holtmeier was selected as an NAIA All-American as a senior when the Lopers finished fourth in the national tournament.
