Stenslokken was a four-year letterman in football where he excelled as a defensive lineman. Stenslokken was a first-team NAIA All-America and honorable mention NAIA All-American along with being named to the CSIC first team.

After graduating, Stenslokken was a member of four professional teams; the NFL Kansas City Chiefs in 1982, the Denver Gold in the United States Football League in 1983, the NFL Miami Dolphins in 1983 and the USFL Pittsburgh Maulers in 1984.

Stenslokken played on teams that compiled a 30-8-2 record. The Lopers were NAIA District 11 champions or co-champions of the CSIC three of those four years. They finished ranked in the NAIA Top 10 in 1978, 1979 and 1980. In 1979, the Lopers competed in the NAIA quarterfinals losing to Central Oklahoma, 42-22. In 1980, they defeated Mars Hill (N.C.), 9-6, before losing to Northeastern (Okla.) State, 14-0, in the national semi-final game.

Stenslokken, who earned a degree in business administration, has worked in the truck leasing industry in Omaha. He is a graduate of Omaha Benson H.S.
