During his two years as a basketball player from 1985 to 1987, Bart Kofoed made a major contribution to the Lopers. Kofoed transferred as a junior and averaged 21.2 points and had 186 assists. As a senior, Kofoed set school records with 902 points, a 26.5 average and 198 assists in leading Coach Jerry Huser’s squad to a 26-8 mark and a record-setting 10th straight appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. Kofoed was named a second team All-American and was conference and district player of the year. He was drafted by the Utah Jazz and played in the NBA for the Jazz, Seattle Supersonics, Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics.
