Bob Korte was a three-sport star from 1947 to 1949 after transferring to Kearney State from Fairbury Junior College. He lead the basketball team in scoring two years, setting Kearney State records both years. He was a tight end on the football team and threw the javelin for the track squad. While coaching and teaching in Arizona, Korte became a nationally recognized basketball official working games in the NAIA and NCAA Championships. He was an NCAA Final Four official in 1966 and 1970. he died in 1983 and was inducted posthumously.
